Lessons can be conducted on your own horse or on one of our quality schoolmaster horses. From beginners to advance we can cater for all levels. Sandy would tailer lessons to suit your skills, future goals and budget. We also offer - One to one lessons – Group lessons - Horses for schooling - Purchase advice - Spelling & Agistment. For those of you who have difficulty in finding the time to keep your horse fit and schooled during the week due to busy schedules and travel times; Nutwood Farm offers an exercising and training service conducted by our resident Trainer. A Starting program is also available. Generally a minimum of four weeks is required in the Starting Program in which your horse is started with handling, bridle, saddle, experience in the arena environment, trail rides, floating etc. We believe it is important that the horse owner is involved in this process as much as possible and to work with Anthony. The aim is also to give the horse an all rounded start, not just taught 'woah' and 'go' but to be exposed to as much as possible but in a calm and relaxed environment. In this four week program the horse is worked at it’s own pace as we do not believe in stressing the horse. Stress can be counterproductive and damaging because the horse is fearful and confused. As each horse progresses through the training at different rates the training is tailored to suit the individual horse thereby creating a well-mannered horse for the owner. Again, any program can be discussed and arranged to suit each horse owner. We can provide any information required about the techniques Anthony uses in his training methods. ON ARRIVAL AT NUTWOOD FARM On arrival at Nutwood Farm you are required to complete an Application for Agistment and pay two weeks agistment and initial worming. Your horse will then be put be in quarantine for 48 hours. Thereafter agistment fees must be paid two weeks in advance. Statements of Account are forwarded on the 15th of each month. Agistment fees are debited from your account on the last Sunday of the fortnight. Weekly service fees will be charged on overdue accounts. All horses are wormed on arrival, and then every second month. Worming costs are $20 per paste and are charged to your agistment account in advance.

CONGRATULATIONS to the following horse and rider combinations who have been named on the 2009 Australian Eventing Talent Search Program.

Trainer Sandy Lucas
Sandy Lucas got her first pony at age 6 and by age 16 was eventing at state level. Sandy has competed at Advanced level very successfully for many years and was identified as a member of the NSW Institute of Sport Squad School in 2003. Sandy has had several quality horses make the grade and a few that just may have gone much further. The sport is physically and mentally tough on both horse and rider. There would not be one rider at this level of the sport that hasn't had some bad luck in their career and as they say "as the going gets tough, the tough get going". This is what makes the sport so challenging yet so rewarding. The thought of discovering a new talented horse or gifted young rider (or young at heart) is what keeps you going.
